When German National Manfred Schuwerk visited a tournament after shopping in Ayala Mall in Cebu he met some players from Labangon leaded by Mark del Valle. After some talking they decided to start practice at Talamban Tabor Hills, where the congregation OAD had a small football field. Some youth- players from the neighbourhood were also practicing with.

Father Eric Mayol, the coach asked if there would be an opportunity to bring those players to the various Cebu football tournaments and so they decided to found a charity-football club providing football opportunities for the poor youth players.

Via cebufa homepage they got in touch with Jonathan Maximo, the president of Cebu FA and the homepage editor Paul Weiler.

The project was started and the 1. Member Assembly was held in October 2005 at Tabor Hills. Lim, Richard Alexander was elected President and Manfred Schuwerk Vice-President. The proposed Statute was accepted and the officers were authorized to update it according to the requirements of SEC. The Certificate of Incorporation was issued from SEC at January 10, 2006 and so FCINTERCEBU Inc. was duly registered.

Jonathan Maximo received the registration letter for CebuFA membership and since then FCInter Cebu is regularly participating on all official competitions of Cebu Football.

It was anyway a difficult situation for the club because the players needed equipment and the teams needed a practice field.

The club found a sponsor, Mr. Holger Retter, CEO from Denker GmbH in Germany stepped in and the problems became smaller.

Only the practice fields were hard to find: sharing of the field at San Roque and other solutions were tried out until the club focussed more on the area in Lapu-Lapu, were plenty of youth and kids were joining the new football project between Bankal and Pajac, the Ticgahon Football.

Until today Ticgahon is playing, although Mr. Many Villar and his Camella Homes company was not able to give permission for the use of the huge area they own there.

But the next step came already when the president of Parents and Teachers Association, Mr. Tony Potot, asked for an introduction of football in the Lapu-Lapu City Central Elementary school. The responsible Teacher Mr. Jun Regulation and the school sport advisor Mr. Tumulak were the guarantors that this 1. school-project for FCIC was a real success. Other schools in Abuno, Subabasbas and Look were following. Today more than 200 students of more than 15 schools in Lapu-Lapu receive support or are practicing with the coaches of FC Inter Cebu.
