The Organizers from FCIC were surprised to see again around 100 boys and girls under 14 years old coming for the Saturday practice to the hard field at Look National High School. After the good experience 3 weeks ago they decided immediately to start an on the spot tournament with 6 teams and they called it: Lapu-Lapu Junior Worldcup Tournament 2010. The players came from different places in Lapu-Lapu, so the U 14 a team from Look presented Argentina, Abuno U 14 played for Spain and Look U 12 for Philippines, others played with mixed teams for Germany, Australia and Brazil. All were wearing uniforms donated by football-friends from Australia, Germany and Switzerland. Each team played each team (single round robin) 2 x 10 minutes so they had in one day 100 minutes to play, a big challenge for the young players.Players from U 17 and mens teams in Lapu-Lapu wer assigned as coaches for the tournament. Many visitors, teachers, parents and friends of the players or just new football fans were watching and enjoyed good and fair games, all officiated by the Look NHS Referees. The winner was again Argentina with only 1 draw and 4 wins before Spain and Germany. Those tournaments will surely become a monthly event in the Lapu-Lapu Football scene.
